Re: Horse race

I've got one which could be interesting.
.    .    .
.    .    .
.    .    .
You are supposed to connect these dots with only 4 straight lines without lifting a pen from the paper, from the moment you put it on.
*Note - if you make a line and than go back over it, it counts as 2 lines.

Yeah, but he told them that the last horse wins. I have already stated that the point of puzzle is to make you think in another way.

I think in different ways, though that's sometimes not a good thing.

Re: Horse race

The nine dots (.) are Milos' original puzzle. justlookingforthemoment joined them up with the / lines. He went past the edge.

Start at the ^, then go diagonally to the top corner \, then go left _ then down and to the left / ( the x is where two lines cross), and then up a little | .

Re: Horse race

Actually, he didn't cheat. He just didn't stop the lines at the dots.

Re: Horse race

"Thinking outside the square"

The strange ability to think beyond the normal has lead to many great discoveries.

So, maths teaches us lots of definitions and rules and "this is how you do it"s, but you should always try to think strange thoughts because a) its fun, and b) you don't know where it may lead!
