what is dilation and if given a triangle with the coordinates how can i find the new set of coordinates after dilation has taken place???
Hmmm , If you know the coordinates of three vertex, each side of the new triangle paralells with the old one , that means the slopes are the same, they share the same core.

yeah...but how do i know where the new vertexes will be located? for instance... i have triangle abc with A(-1,2), B(0,5) and C(5,4). Where will the new vertices be after a dilation of 2???? I need to list the new coordinates and i am sooooo confused.
maybe the new vertex are on the bisector of each angle.

It depends on where the centre of dilation is. Presumably its the origin?
An origin-centred dilation of 2 simply multiplies everything by 2. So the new vertices of your dilated triangle will be A′(2,4), B′(0,10), C′(10,8).
