what angle has itself as a complement?
An angle plus it's complement is equal to 90. Let's call the angle X. It's complement is therefore X also. And the sum of them is 90, so 2X = 90 and X = 45.

Well, two angles are complementary if they add to 90°.
If an angle x is the same as its complement then that means that x+x = 90°
From there, you can easily solve to find the value of x.
