3 step stairs investigation

Im doing an investigation for maths, for my GCSE coursework (im in year 11 at school), investigating step stairs on a grid.

does anyone know what the final formula is for any number of steps on any size grid, and how to work it out? i know it has something to do with triangular and cubic numbers but im not sure

thankyou!!!!

Re: 3 step stairs investigation

Could you set the problem out more clearly? What's the problem you've been given?

Although nobody on here will hand you a perfect GCSE paper on a plate, I'm sure we'll point you in the right direction if you can be clearer as to what problem you've been set.
