Re: Forum EnhancementsIn most forums you earn a point for a post with more than 2 lines but not rubbish like this "gdhvfcjhvkdjhvbjgbjhcbhjvfvgjfdvjgjhk, hjzs.dszdjgiciskdvhikdvhjdhvkdfhkvhskvhfihsihgvfhkvghvkhfuhufhkvjhfdgvfvikgfidijgvhffigvfffffdgufkgfkfkukjjjhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Dreams don't come true, you gotta make them come true. #27 2007-02-11 10:09:51
Re: Forum EnhancementsThat's an interesting suggestion. As that would be automated, it's essentially still just a post count, but it's a slightly more intelligent version. Kind of a "substantial post" count. The problem with that is that some posts can be longer than two lines and still pointless, and conversely some of the best/most useful/funniest posts are one-liners. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #28 2007-02-11 10:25:42
Re: Forum Enhancementsrida: good idea, but as mathsy says, how can the computer judge? But perhaps a word-count would help encourage meatier replies. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #29 2007-02-11 10:32:55
Re: Forum EnhancementsYes, that's pretty much it. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #30 2007-02-11 10:46:05
Re: Forum EnhancementsI think they have that feature in AOPS, its very nice for someone who doesn't want to reveal the complete solution at once. Maybe some javascript could do that? #31 2007-02-12 16:44:49
