Re: anti log?????

fusilli_jerry's got it, except that as this is anti log(3), then it would be 3^x, rather than 10^x.

So in your example, anti log(3) 4 = 3^4 = 81.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: anti log?????

It's impossible to tell you where the button would be on your calculator without knowing where it is. As I don't know, all I can really say is 'look for an antilog button'.

If your calculator has an ^ or an x[sup]y[/sup] button, then they'll do exactly the same job.

Re: anti log?????

i belive on most calculators you would push the "inv" (invert) or "2nd" button. Usually antilog is the same button as log you just need to push one of those buttons to use it. On my calculator, and all others i've seen, you use inv ln x to get e^x and inv log x to get 10^x.

A logarithm is just a misspelled algorithm.
