Ah, you read the series? smile

I finished reading book 13 'The End' on October 14th. I'm not spoiling anything for anyone, though...

Re: Vocabulary Test

Don't you mean Book the Thirteenth? I'm going to read that soon. I'm at university at the moment and my parents said that they found it for an incredibly cheap price somewhere at Tesco's so they bought it. But that means that I now can't buy it or it would be a waste and so I just have to wait until I next go back home. [/peek into mathsy's life]

Re: Vocabulary Test

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballistics

Just to provide a reference to ballistics.

There are two variations of the word; Ballistic and ballistics, with the 's' on the end to signify a plural. They both have different meanings of each other.

Re: Vocabulary Test

Serendipity has an interesting history.

There is an old Persian fairy tale about the 3 princes of Serendip (which was the Persian word for Sri Lanka). The princes apparently made accidental discoveries that also required them being wise enough to see the importance of the discoveries. An Englishman read the fairy tale and created the word "Serendipity" to describe such a discovery, which was a form of Serendipity in itself!
