If Tony can cut the trunk of the tree into three pieces in 20 minutes how much time does Tony need to cut the same trunk into six pieces

Tony needs to make two cuts (one less cut than pieces) in order to cut a trunk into three pieces.
⏱️ Two cuts → Twenty minutes
Thus, 1 cut equals 20 ÷ 2 = 10 minutes.

Tony needs five cuts to make six parts.  5 x 10 = 50 minutes

Answer 50 minutes.
