Hello, I was looking through the answers for questions 24-25 of the 2018 Waterloo Gr. 8 Gauss Contest (having already done the contest and getting q. 24&25 wrong), but I had a hard time understanding the answers on their page. Could you please clarify how to solve questions 24-25? Since I'm only a grade 8 (going into grade 9 this September), please use simpler maths so that I can understand what's going on.
