Z-transform

I'm struggling with the discrete timed system and the Z-transfer function: H(z)=a/(1-bz), the input is a step (Uk=1, when k is equal or greater than 0) -> output y0=2 and yk->2 when k->infinity. I should define the a and b. I'd be very grateful if someone could explain that just a bit.. smile
