Forum Member's rank..

What is the 'rank' sort of thing written below any user's/member's name (like guest, novice, full member, super member etc. etc.)?
How many 'ranks' are there in all?
What difference does it make??
How to get 'promoted'???rolleyes:

Re: Forum Member's rank..

It's just for fun to see how long you've been around here I guess, based on 500 or 1000 posts, and some other things too.

Re: Forum Member's rank..

Thanks Mr. Franklin but i'm looking forward to a 'More Specific' reply please..
I searched for detailed information about 'Forums' on the net. In 'WikiPedia' they've just given a few words bout 'roles of a Moderator'.
But i think that the rules may vary from Forum to Forum!
I'm interested about 'This Particular Forum' please....
dunno

Re: Forum Member's rank..

As J.E.F. said, the ranks shows a fuzzy estimate on how active you are, or how helpful you are, or how long you've been in this forum.

Guesstimate on how many posts each rank has.

Real Members are not related to post number. They are granted by the Admin (the creator of this site(I think) which is MathisFun) if you ask for it and you're worthy.

Moderators usually patrol the forums and check if everyone's being forum-friendly (I've seen quite a few members here that weren't). They have the power (I think, Johnny is never sure) to ban a member for a while or longer.

These are just my observations here. Ask The Mods or the Admin for a better explanation.

Re: Forum Member's rank..

Nicely put Johnny!
But, is there a way to ask a question to a Mod or Admin directly (apart from making a post in of these sections)??

Yes, go to MathsIsFun.com with the s in maths, and click on
"Contact Us", that should get to MIF admin and creator of site,
whose poor old dog Rah just died a few months ago...
I know how hard it can be because I had a sweet old cat that died a
year ago named Maria.

What can I do to make him think that I am worthy of the title?

Actually I never watch Star Wars and not interested in it anyway, but I choose a Yoda card as my avatar in honor of our great friend bobbym who has passed away.
May his adventurous soul rest in peace at heaven.
