Non-LaTex symbolsFor those running Windows, the following work on this forum #2 2006-08-22 17:09:23
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsI didn't realise you could create Math symbols like that...nice work putting them into a list like that. #3 2006-08-22 17:43:33

Re: Non-LaTex symbolsDo you know if there is a way to type alt codes on a laptop with no number pad? #5 2006-08-23 16:55:01
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsWell, sometimes alt codes do not work for some reason at times, so I just simply use MS Word. On opening MS Word, click on the dropdown tab 'Insert', then click on 'symbols'. A window will open up with all the possible characters that Microsoft Word can provide you with in your current version, for the time being. Re: Non-LaTex symbols
I have a laptop with no number pad. Do you have small numbers on your u, i, o, j, k, and l keys? This may be where your number pad is - it's just slanted. Activate numlock and use the corresponding keys ... unless you don't have the numbers there. #7 2006-08-23 18:50:29
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsdevante, there is just a thing as the character map in.. start menu>>all programs>>accessories>>system tools>>character map The Beginning Of All Things To End. The End Of All Things To Come. #8 2006-08-24 02:29:27
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsI know, but it depends whether people find which one easier. I prefer the MS Word way, and that way is good too, but it depends on people's preferences to accessing that information. #9 2006-08-24 02:38:32
Re: Non-LaTex symbols
There will be a way, I am sure. Experiment, that's how I found the codes I posted. #10 2006-08-24 04:24:51
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsSilly me, I can do it if I have numlock on. I should have tried before I asked #11 2006-08-24 05:27:13
Re: Non-LaTex symbolsTo create a character with an acute accent, press [Ctrl]['] (that's [Ctrl] and the apostrophe), followed by the character. For example, to type a lowercase or uppercase E with an acute accent, press [Ctrl]['] and then type e or E. Last edited by Devanté (2006-08-24 05:29:16) |
