That is a joke. I sometimes where a hat in the jungle because it is very, very hot and the sun can bake your head very quickly.

But... in the jungle the sun's rays get filtered out through the huge trees covering the sky and it gets shady under tall trees.

As a roof goes, those tall trees are not all that great. Sunlight does get through. Also, there are clearings.

Re: bobbym, Are you our maths teacher at school?

That is a pretty wide trail and does look like the area around here but they all look alike so it is difficult to say.

Here is a shot of an area I hiked through a while back. It has no cover at all around the lake.

Today, I took a little jaunt to the forest and did not check the weather. Half way there I began to feel a little weak. I did not know it the temperature had shot up to around 95 F and 90% humidity. I did not have my hat and biking is very strenuous. I did experience some heat exhaustion but am okay right now.

I do not live in Tallahassee, I live in Ocala.

Yes, I live right on the outskirts of it and if I step out of my balcony I am immediately in the jungle.

Re: bobbym, Are you our maths teacher at school?

Hmmm, I knew that, Ocala national forest is very famous.

yes, I live right on the outskirts of it and if I step out of my balcony I am immediately in the jungle.

You live just beside the jungle. I just searched out what dangerous animals were there in this forest and a direct google answer came out from wikipedia which I am going to quote here:

Wikipedia wrote:

The Florida black bear population has its highest concentration here. alligators, white-tailed deer, wild boar, and numerous small animals, including squirrels, bats, coyote, gray fox, red fox, opossum, raccoon, river otter, bobcat, skunk, southeastern pocket gopher, and nine-banded armadillo can be found as well

I would advise you not to go inside the jungle at this old age as, if any animal attacks you in the age of 96, you will not be able to run or hide, and you may die.

Re: bobbym, Are you our maths teacher at school?

I may also die going to the store, the wild animal there is called the automobile and each year it kills more people than all the wild animals in all the forests and jungles of the world.

Animals usually run away from people, they know that humans are dangerous. There are also rattlesnakes and cottonmouths here too. The anaconda and boa constrictor are slowly moving north to my location. There are wild monkeys here and they are extremely dangerous.

So, if you love forests so much, move but with a gun( though killing of wild animals are banned nowadays).

Re: bobbym, Are you our maths teacher at school?

We are allowed to carry a weapon here in Florida but I have never been in a spot where I would have had to use it. Killing anything is against God's laws and I would not do it unless there were no other possible options. As I said the animals avoid me.

Re: bobbym, Are you our maths teacher at school?

There are rules in the forest and jungle. The animals obey those rules, the people do not and whenever I am out there I am always watching for the most dangerous and savage creature, a human being.

Here are may shots of a spot that is only a couple of miles from where I am sitting right now. You can see that there is not much cover and the sun is very strong.
