probability

The question was "Two coins are tossed once. What is the Probability of getting 2 heads?" in my Formative Exam. Can anyone tell me the answer along with the solution? As soon as possible.

Re: probability

It does not matter whether they are tossed two at once or one at a time. One outcome does not affect the other. We can just multiply the probabilities.

P( Two heads in 2 tosses) = (1/2)(1/2) = 1 / 4

I almost died today ( according to the metorologists... Is that even a science or is it just a bunch of guys guessing? ) so how about a little jargon?

When one outcome does not affect the other like two coin tosses we say they are independent.  The following law holds;

When two events, A and B, are independent, the probability of both occurring is:

P(A and B) = P(A) x P(B)

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
