Re: Nohow

I just made use of the principles of EM. They are as applied to this problem:

1) RIPOSTP

2) I made use of the hybrid super brain.

3) Repeated application of FindInstance, Solve and up down - right left logic.

Test:

((823 + 800) (704 - 600))/3 = 56264

And what did you think of the puzzle?

I thought it might be one that I could do, one that experimental methods could do.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Hi Bobby,

1) Not doing adequate Research Is Part Of the reason for failing to Solve The Problem.

2) "Wolf, Wolf". Throw that doggie a bone!

3) Hmm...I'll have to look into that one.

I'll PM you my M code soon.

Sorry, but your test has an error, giving an incorrect answer. When you get the correct answer you'll see why it makes sense "as a check".

Re: Nohow

Hi;

I was wondering why it was different from last time. I will work on it.

(823 + 800) (749 - 600)/3 = 80609

Re: Nohow

Correct...the answer is a NOHOW number.

Re: Nohow

Oh, I see. I will look at your notebook.

Re: Nohow

Oops...I forgot that I was going to send the notebook file and posted the code instead. The notebook contains some extra bits (puzzle wording, solution, the "quick-'n-easy way" I referred to in post #90), but you have the main ingredients, which is probably all you really need.

Bed time now. See you later...

Re: Nohow

The code looks okay. It is shorter than mine.
