Know then thyself, presume not God to scan;
The proper study of mankind is man.

Re: What does the future hold in store for mankind and the world?

It is not a definition

Re: What does the future hold in store for mankind and the world?

I do not try to define that which is undefinable. Do you imagine that the puny mortal mind can fathom God? The pragmatist, the EM guy works on things he can work on and does not dissipate his finite energies on that which is unknowable.

You did. You said that he is omniscient.

I said that is how religion defines him partially. I have never told anyone how I define him.

Re: What does the future hold in store for mankind and the world?

That makes sense, now.

My definition of God does not imply or is equivalent to a person who knows everything.

He is not a person. He is more than the sum of all the armies that oppose him.

See! and confess, one comfort still must rise,
'Tis this: Though man's a fool, yet God is wise.

Re: What does the future hold in store for mankind and the world?

Okay, let me replace person with thing.

Note that we are talking of different ideas, since I am defining things that way

We are the things, he is a person. We are unreal. He is real. We are a dream, within a dream.

Not a person like we think we are.

Hi Chris;

I do not think there is a single person on the earth who has not studied that book to some degree.

A Bible around? My old KJV fell to pieces due to wear. Back then they used acid in the pages which literally ate it up. I have an older pre King James version that I got online but need to find it.

Re: What does the future hold in store for mankind and the world?

To some extent, yes. But I have my own kind of feelings towards it

If I can remember being young I would say most scientifically minded young people will be skeptical and perhaps scornful of it. When you people are all grown up we will have these conversations again.
