Ninja's Puzzles!

I have devised some of the most evil questions of all time, some math-related, which will appear over the course of a few days. Try to solve them.I have 1 question i'm sure NO-ONE will answer! I will allow minor hints also. (some are easier than others!)

1. Who founded the Lego company?

2. What is Mokele Mbembe?

3. What is the most common bird in the world?

4. What is Lego an abbreviation of?

5. What is Brosnie and where is it supposed to live?

Enjoy! big_smile

(and I do know the answers, mind you)

Re: Ninja's Puzzles!

6. Carbon (thats a guess)

10. Photocorynus spiniceps (6-7 mm)

My answer to THE EVIL QUESTION:

Xanthopan morgani praedicta is a moth discovered in 1903 in Madagascar.  In his Origin of Species, Darwin described the orchid
Angreacum Sesquipidales. He noted its white, star-like flowers
were only fragrant at night, and that its nectar was to be found at
the bottom of a foot long spur. To others' incredulity, he went on
to predict that, because of these features, it must be polllinated by
an unknown moth with a tongue of approximately the same length as the spur. Sadly Darwin never saw proof of this theory, but years later such a moth was discovered and named Xanthopan morgani praedicta in his honor.

7. The little known man "Mr. Chicken" was the previous occupant of 10 Downing Street. Though no records have been uncovered about him, he was presumed to live at the goverment building before it was taken over by the English. His first name isn't known.

6. Is Oxygen. It takes up between 60% and 65% of the human body. Most oxygen is stored as water.

[The werewolf one]. King John (Who reigned 1199-1216)

10. Paedocypris. It's a 7.9mm long 'fish' found in Sumatra.

A Chavender is part of a poem by W. St Leger, otherwise referred to as a chub.

THE CHAVENDER, OR CHUB by W. St Leger

There is a fine stuffed chavender
A chavender or chub.
That decks the rural pavender,
The pavender or pub.
Wherein I eat my gravender,
My gravender,or grub.

6.  There are two H atoms for every one O atom in water, which is the majority of our body, but by atom weight, O wins, but by number of nuclei, H wins.  'Course I might be wrong...

Re: Ninja's Puzzles!

Although water is the majority of the body there are a lot of other molecules which could make a difference. Sugars are made up from carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. An alpha glucose molecule contains 6 carbon atoms, 12 hydrogen atoms, and 6 oxygen atoms. Carbohydrates are long chains of sugar molecules. Amino acids (which make up proteins) contain an amino group - NH2, a carboxylic acid - COOH, a central carbon atom, an additional H, and an R group. The R group can consist of different amounts of C, H and other elements such as sulphur. Then there are lipids (fats) - triglycerides and phospholipids. A triglyceride consists of a glycerol molecule and 3 fatty acid molecules. The glycerol is C3H5(OH)3 and a fatty acid has a hydrocarbon chain and a COOH group. A phospholipid has a phosphate group instead of one of the fatty acids. Phospholipids make up the cell membrane.
After that description of some of the molecules in the body, i still don't know which element is the most common. It depends if you are doing it by number of atoms, moles, relative atomic mass, or grams.

Re: Ninja's Puzzles!

I think it depends on where you are going by mass, %, moles etc. There are so many different molecules in the body, that there is probably some dispute about which element is the most common. Personally, I would have gone for carbon, but that was a guess anyway.
