Relic have recently announced the expansion to the popular real-time strategy game "Dawn of War". The expansion will be "Winter Assault", harbouring the same pre-title, of course.

For this expansion, they have taken to introduce a new playable race; the Imperial Guard. Again, the Necron's and Tyranid's have not been chosen, which is a shame 'cause they'd make a good race to play. But, on the other hand, the Imperial Guard have been given a new overhaul since the last game, where they briefly appeared, and they've been given new units and models, even new sounds. Highly "WW2ish", the Imperial Guard are long ranged and defensive, but look extremely good. For example;


The Baneblade, the most powerful tank of the Imperial Guard, which looks suspiciously like a WW2 type tank.
They've also been given the true power by the guard, the Basilisk; a long range artillery able to blow holes in almost anything.

Completely new single player campaigns have been made and seperated into two categories; Good and Evil. Where you can either play on the side of Good; Eldar, Space Marines and Imperial Guard or as Evil; the vicious Orks or the dread Chaos.

Each race, as well, has been given a new unit to enjoy, even though it doesn't sound much, a new unit can be very useful. Especially the Eldar, who get the Firedragon squads. A powerful anti-veichle squad.

As such, the game, I hope, is going to be good. If it's released with a map editor, like Blizzard's Warcraft was, then it'll be even better. I enjoy making my own maps.
