Re: Serbia floods

Hi anonimnystefy;

Looks pretty bad. How close is that to you?

It looks really bad.  I've been watching the news with great alarm.

Re: Serbia floods

Well, there is a place nearby here which was flooded, but the rest of the town is okay. The rest of Serbia, not so well, though.

Re: Serbia floods

Hi;

Might be subsiding now. What will you do? Stay in your home?

Re: Serbia floods

Well, over here we're in no danger so far.

Now some meteorologist is suspecting that snow from mountains of Bosnia will start melting soon which might bring about another wave. I'm not sure how true that is.

One of the most frightening things is that there is a danger of the town Šabac being flooded which is really not good because it is the central part of Serbia's chemical industry. If anything happens there...

Re: Serbia floods

Hi;

Maybe you should stock up on some supplies while you can. If they force you to an emergency camp you may not have any for a while.

Re: Serbia floods

I actually wish we had more of this heavy rain and storms here by MA. It's too quiet here.

Re: Serbia floods

I'm not sure if you really want the floods. One small town near our capital was completely destroyed. The victim count as the media report it is rather low, but the guys on the field say it's much higher.

Re: Serbia floods

Yeah, that statement was pretty badly worded. What I meant was frequent thunder storms and heavy rain. I don't like calm weather a lot.

Re: Serbia floods

Here, since we don't have many of them, 30 mm rain is something we have to go buy emergency supplies for.

Re: Serbia floods

There doesn't seem to be real threat here in my town at the moment, for most people. The real problem are several towns demolished by the flood and several threatened to yet be demolished.

Re: Serbia floods

I think you probably have enough supplies. If you don't have stuff like food, then you probably have to go grocery shopping soon anyway.

Do you have drinking water? Some medical supplies?

Re: Serbia floods

Over here, they pulled a bunch of people out of their homes supposedly for their own safety. They took them to a basketball court they called an emergency shelter. There was not adequate water or food. They had to spend the night...

Re: Serbia floods

The towns water supply is not a river that flooded. We're mostly able to live as we used to here.

Re: Serbia floods

Don't worry about me. I'm up on a hill, the water would need to be veeeeery high in order to reach me.

Re: Serbia floods

Okay, but you could fill up a few pots with water just to be on the safe side in case the mains burst or become contaminated.
