What to tell at your funeral?

Invite a physicist.
Here's why.

'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.'
'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it'
'You have made another human being happy. There is no greater accomplishment.' -bobbym

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

I thought the local pastor already did that.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

Yea, nowadays it is restricted to a Protestant. But in the old days it was used interchangeably with parish priest. What I am saying is the local spiritual leader already does that.

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

I'd not allow any spiritual guy to talk in my funeral. I think I should compose a speech myself.

You will be dead? Believe me, you will not be saying much. Also, I understand the sentiment. There will be no physicists anywhere near me when my time comes.

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

You will be dead?

Like Socrates, all man are mortal.

Believe me, you will not be saying much.

I won't be saying anything at all. I would be dead.

So then why are you composing a speech?

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

Someone else will read it on my behalf. What sentiment are you talking about?

Re: What to tell at your funeral?

Means I understand your feelings on this point.

But I do not agree with them.

A holy man at my funeral would be great.
