Age Calculation Problem

Aaron was 24 when his daughter sarah was born . if Aaron is now 3 times as old as sarah . how many years ago was aaron 4 times as old as sarah? smile

4 years ago Aaron was 4 times as old as Sarah.

s + 24 = a

3s = a

a = 36, s = 12 are the ages now.

The next closest multiple of 4 is a = 32  and s = 8. 32 / 8 = 4.
