Complex Numbers

If a  and b  are real numbers such that (a-ib)^2 =4,

verify that

a^4 +a^2 -16 =0

I do not think you can prove that because the statement is false.

so

a is obviously 2 and b is 0.

a is obviously -2 and b =0.

So a can be either -2 or 2 now just plug in.

2^4 +2^2 - 16 ≠ 0

(-2)^4 +(-2)^2 - 16 ≠ 0


In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
