Yeah, me tooHi all, I'm another newbie here. I graduated from college not too long ago and I'm now in graduate school in a field where we use math all the time. I think there are two reasons why I'm here. First, I kind of miss the days when I used to play around with math ideas just for fun, so I thought I'd check out this forum to see what sorts of cool puzzles/problems there are, and maybe add some of my own. I enjoy what I do - don't get me wrong - but sometimes I get a little tired of grinding through long, messy equations. #2 2006-03-05 04:16:07
Re: Yeah, me tooAh, I did not look at the sticky at the top of the page. Yes, LaTeX is nice. #3 2006-03-05 06:15:44
Re: Yeah, me tooHi!I'm espeon. I'm only in year six going to graduate into high school at the end of june or is it july?I can't remember. If you want to have a career as a teacher then heres a tiny test. All you have to do is teach me everything you know about about triangular numbers. If I understand then you can definately become a teacher. This is hard because you can't use any complicated words because I haven't learnt any yet.By the way which secondary school did you go to? Where's your towel? Bet you never heard that one. Last edited by Ricky (2006-03-05 06:17:35) "In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..." #5 2006-03-05 08:38:44
Re: Yeah, me tooWelcome to the forum, "fgarb"! We have loads of puzzles if you search back, and I look forward to some new ones from you! "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #6 2006-03-05 09:19:27
