The problem I have has been depicted clearly on the attached file.

I need to solve for both the cases (exponential and polynomial).

I have a data set which has different values of y2 from x1 to x2, however, the constant y1 is always missing.

**In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.Of course that result can be rigorously obtained, but who cares?Combinatorics is Algebra and Algebra is Combinatorics.**
