mixed fraction

Hey all

I can do most of these but cant get past this one for some reason.

but i get stuck here S: is this totally wrong?

with the other problems i was able to factor them then cancel out. But this one i keep getting to this point and get confused

Hi;

There are probably a couple of ways to get there:

1) Multiply top and bottom by a.

1) Multiply top and bottom by a2.

Hi;

No, I was starting from the beginning.

Now you multiply top and bottom of that by a2.

in the book it doesnt have the exponent it just says a2 but maybe its typo? omg >< i will retry

im sure its a typo because the 2 is after the a which does not conform with previous exercises.

i spent 2 hours on this :*( 2 hours 20 minutes

If you follow Post #4 will get you there very easily.

But you will then notice that the book problem must be a typo. But if it is not then the answer is
