This has been asked before but...................
Some time ago, in the land of floppy discs, I had a program to calculate the rotations for dinners where each person/couple hosts one of four courses and where each couple does not eat with any other couple more than once.
All I have now are paper calculations for 32 couples but would like 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32
Can somebody assist me please.

Do you remember when they used audio cassettes for storage?
These are called social golfers problems or progressive dinners.
How do you want the 16 spread and remember most arrangements have not been solved for or are impossible.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.
