thanx, i was going through for an answer in calculator and i got the result with this sign so wanted to know what does it really mean.

Sorry, if it's a bit late to chip in here but could this just be standard index form?

OK.  That 'e' has very little to do with the number 2.71828......

It is simply a calculator abbreviation for 'ten to the power of' ie

This is the way a calculator with a limited display size shows standard index form.  As the full number has 101 digits it saves a lot of space.
