Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?Hmmm, have you not heard of artistic license? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #28 20131117 13:22:13
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?I only know about the Creative Commons and the GNU GPL. I was never a legal expert. 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? It gives authors, poets and yes even posters the right to distort the silly rules of grammar and grandpa too! In mathematics, you don't understand things. Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? So, did you distort grandpa? 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? He was too powerful for me. Much higher percentage of reptilian dna. He had 5 times my physical strength and was much faster. He did not feel the cold or the heat as humans do. He could predict the future and had hands that were enormous and almost indestructible. In mathematics, you don't understand things. Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?I miss Tee. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment #37 20131118 01:48:21
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?
I appreciate that but I would not make a good leader. I would insist that less money is spent on the military and more on math education. Clearly a crazy idea.
Historically significant? I would delete the whole thread if I could. You are forgetting about licentia poetica. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #38 20131118 05:30:13
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?
But that sort of comment is precisely my reason for wanting to vote for you!!! You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #39 20131118 06:14:05
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?Just one more, pistachios are to be outlawed. They hurt my gums. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?Oh no bobbym they hurt your reputation!!! NOOOO!!! Hey. #41 20131118 06:55:57
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? They may have but once we have outlawed them they will be put to death. No more pistachios! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #42 20131118 12:10:22
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?I love pistachios. 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? That may true for everything else but not those pistachios. By the way when I was a kid I loved them too but they were rare, we were very poor. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world? Now I have made sure that I and you are talking about the same pistachio.
That is the same reason why I do not eat a lot of pistachios. 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' 'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it' 'Who are you to judge everything?' Alokananda #47 20131119 02:42:00
Re: Are the bobbyms taking over the world?Less than 300 miles from where I am sitting are the second largest fields of pistachios in the world. It is only because of the greed of the men we talked about that they are not plentiful to everyone here. They ship to other countries ( thousands of miles away ) so they can receive government kickbacks rather than send them over here. The ones in our stores come from Iran! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
