Re: Math

Hi;

Welcome to the forum;

For the first one:

Cross multiply

Divide by 9.

Want to try the second one on your own?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

Re: Math

I have the answers I just don't know if they are right so can you do the second question like the first question
so I can know how to do the rest

Re: Math

Cross multiply

Subtract 15 from both sides

Divide both sides by 3

Re: Math

Use the quadratic formula to solve the equation.  Find the exact solutions. Show your work.
1. x2 4x + 3 = 0
2. 3x2 + 2x 1 = 0
3. 8x2 2x 3 = 0
4. 2x2 5x 3 = 0
5. 6x2 5x 1 = 0
6. x2 + 8x + 12 = 0
7. x2+ 10x = -25
8. x(x 5) = -4
Can you do it so I can make sure that I am right

Re: Math

Not really. That would be a great wastage of time.

where the polynomial is in the form ax^2 + bx + c

For the first one, a = 1, b= -4 and c = 3

Try to put the values of a, b and c in the formula

Hi;

Those are not the roots for number 2. How did you get your answer?

What are they teaching you, factoring or the quadratic formula?

Re: Math

Of course I can, they used to call me "Mr Equation," because there was no equation I could not solve.

What are they teaching you, factoring or quadratic formula?

What have you been taught so far?

I will do you that favor but I am opposed to it. Athletics are great but they are fleeting. A guy's body can only last so long. An education lasts a lifetime.

The answers will be posted for 3 to whatever.

I hope my statements above will not be ignored.
