15. Pico is a miniscule measurement of time when used before second. I think it's used to measure the speed of time, possibly.

Nice topic. Here are the ones that haven't been said already and that I know:
1) Camels! Bactrian has two humps, dromedary has one.
3) Million has the mill (meaning one) prefix, billion has the bill (meaning two) prefix and so on. I think Vigintillion has the prefix meaning twenty, which would mean that it has either 63 or 120 zeroes, depending on which numbering system you use. 120 is the correct one. =P
10) 1760 yards make a mile.
11) Nautical miles are used when on the sea. 
15) Zach was close, but it's a prefix for any unit of measurement, not just time. Anyway, it means a billionth of whatever unit it's attached to. Or maybe a trillionth, again, depending on what numbering system you use. Billionth is correct.

8) SCUBA is Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. ELISA could be (just guessing here) English Language Internationally Standardized Aptitude test.
11) A nautical mile is like 6080 ft as opposed to a mile's 5280. I don't know without looking it up, but I believe it derives from the old (still-used) measure of speed, the "knot". Knots used to be measured by throwing a float attached to a knotted rope out the back of a ship, then counting how fast the knots reeled out.
12a) Dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane is a banned pesticide. (Go organic chemistry!)
