Re: Hacking

Bash? That terminal thing?

Are you one of them?

Re: Hacking

Hmm What is bash hacking?

Since bobbym knows assembly, he may be one of them.

Re: Hacking

That is a common idea. If you learned assembly language you are more dangerous than an atom bomb. Govt agencies and others keep tabs on you.

I never used any bit of my peanut sized brain for anything but the betterment of mankind.

Re: Hacking

but the betterment of mankind.

Leave the mankind alone. It is dangerous.

How do we get to learn assembly?

Re: Hacking

There are books on the web. basically it is easier if you already know one processor.

It is an outdated tool and totally unnecessary.

Re: Hacking

Assembly language is fast. Even faster than C++. I wrote a Holdem Simulator, a baud speeder upper, my own RNG...

Re: Hacking

Then I will have to try harder. Only the last few minutes?

Today's processors have the speed for most jobs and C++ will be adequate. I still have to go with post #7, the first paragraph.

Re: Hacking

I learned assembly from many online and real life resources. I recommend http://www.tutorialspoint.com/assembly_programming/index.htm

Re: Hacking

I learned mine from the old Z-80's, 6502's, 6809E's and the first 16 bitter, the MC68000 which I still have.

Re: Hacking

There was little instruction. These were the first microcomputers in the world. There were only a handful of people who could do it. One did write a small book and that was all that was needed.

Re: Hacking

Hi;

Heck no, I would never write something as evil and twisted as that. Let Micro$loth do that.

Re: Hacking

They sell their operating system to the highest builder and do not care how that vendor mangles it. They have no pride in their product. Look what HP did to it and Micro$oft did not care.

They spy on everyone who runs their OS. It is bloated and slow and designed to wear out your hard drives faster. Of course, they own the HD companies too.

They will sell the info they get to anyone who will pay and they do not care. The OS has hidden messages and easter eggs further bloating the code. It does not handle device drivers well and crashes if you just stare at it...

Re: Hacking

Well, is it that an app on one distro can't be run on another?

Re: Hacking

While some people are going in the direction of smaller, Microweasel is trying to develop the first OS that is 500 GB.
