Its cool this site lets you know who's online, but some forums let you see who's on each forum, reading a particular thread, and even who's typing up a post or reply.
Would it be possible to do that here?

I know nothing about this kind of thing, so this is just guesswork, but I think that whether or not it can be done depends on the type of forum you are on. This is a PunBB forum, and I'd guess that the forum that mikau was talking about is an Invision Power Board or something.
But if it is possible to do, it would be a cool thing to have.

I found these "mod"s:
"PunOnline 1.2.1" - Adds a list of where the users are on your site. (people reported bugs with this mod)
"Users online today 1.0.1" - allow you to display a list of the registered users who was online during the day.
"Activity Barometer 2.0" - Shows the "flux" of posts per hour or number of posts during a day or a week.
"Easy Poll" - Adds polls to PunBB
"Reputation System 1.0.1" - Allows users to give reputation points to other users.

"Easy Poll" and "Reputation System 1.0.1" should be fun!
"PunOnline 1.2.1" (without bugs), "Users online today 1.0.1", and
"Activity Barometer 2.0" seem good too.

You mean, where we rate other users? Hmm... that is interesting. I wonder whether that one would be helpful and useful or fight-provoking here?
Other than that, they all sound good, I don't really mind which ones.

As justlooking says, if everyone is allowed to rate other users, then that could cause fights. Plus it would essentially just be a popularity contest. Some forums have that feature, but the points are only able to be rewarded by admins, and that might work better, although it could just as easily mean that people would go "HaY RoD GiVe MeH pnts plz lol thx 
."
Polls would be a great addition, though. I'm not sure how useful the 'users online today' would be, but the activity barometer would be quite interesting.
And as I said before, the PunOnline thing would be very useful. So would PM's, but we've had that conversation before.
