Re: matrix

Hi niharika_kumar;

That is a linear equation with set brackets around it. Could be a vector, a list, a set or just a linear equation.

The equation is easy to solve

Is that what you want? Where is the matrix? Please do not say it is all around me... Somebody already got me with that line today.

Re: matrix

Maybe it really is a matrix such as

or

Then make det(M) = 4

niharika_kumar:  Welcome to the forum.

If the above is the sort of thiong you meant, you'll have to make it clear what numbers go where.  smile

Applies to math even more.

some1 asked me this ques. in a chtrm and i replied the same but then he told me that we have to solve it by using matrix(of which i am totally unaware) and he told me that the answer was 6.

Re: matrix

Can you get a little bit more information out of him?

Re: matrix

His notation is unexplainable. I do not know what to do with it.

Re: matrix

If you mean the matrix bob wrote about,the you have to find d so that det(M)=4,if you mean a linear equation it can be solved like a system of linear equation (but the method would be dull).
