Re: MercuryBasically just a big rock in space. Good page! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #3 20130606 11:40:20
Re: MercuryInteresting to think about living there. If you were well insulated (say underground) the high and low temps would average out to around 130 degrees. With some solar collectors and heat pumps you could make it quite bearable. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Re: MercuryYou know they sometimes mention a place in the Sahara as achieving a higher temperature than Death Valley. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Yeah, put some ice cubes, Hey. #6 20130606 12:28:26
Re: MercuryThere aren't any ice cubes here. I was walking home from shopping and sat down to rest and drink something. I heard a little tweaking sound coming closer. I leaned over to see a scorpion approaching. He was wobbling badly from dehydration. He was begging for water and went belly up right in front of me. Short but pointless anecdote about the heat. Re: MercurySounds like something from Breaking Bad. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #8 20130606 15:19:01
Re: MercuryBobbym, are you not afraid of Scorpions..? Jake is Alice's father, Jake is the ________ of Alice's father? Why is T called island letter? think, think, think and don't get up with a solution... #9 20130607 07:02:23
Re: MercuryHi MIF The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment
