Trig proofs

Hi, I hope this in the right forum. Anyway, I need some help with these trig proofs, they are quite hard for me. Oh and a=alpha; not sure how to make it look nice sorry!

ONE:
1+(1/cot^2a)=sec^2a

TWO:
(cosec^2)a-1=(cos a cosec a)^2

If there are any more Ill post them up.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Re: Trig proofs

hi Nick

Welcome to the forum.

Q1.  You can do this with

and

and

There's a similar formula for cosec

Q2.

If you've not met these before, start with

and divide by sin squared or by cos squared

Hope that helps.

Bob

ps.  The fancy maths is achieved by using Latex.  If you click on one of my formulas you'll see the code.  You put square brackets math at the start and square brackets /math at the end.
