How do I raise this number 0.9176 to the power of 2.2 ?

Easiest way for pure calculation like this is to use a calculator.

0.82763241287978638037...


How does the calculator do it? One way is the Taylor series:

Of course it can but at the price of accuracy. Or one could try a Pade approximant...

How much accuracy are you interested in? It would also be wise to tell me what it is for.

That depends on the calculator. Usually you type 0.9176 and then press y^x and then 2.2

Can you see this image. Look at the middle key, it says x^y.
