Hi steveb mandy here when I said homework timetable I meant to say the work you set and I say to you I will do it for tomorrow ok. I have a compaq computer and I can use. The zoom function onmy browser Internet is good do not know much about explore chrome or firfox so could you help me out?
With the "homework" bit of that have you attempted those quesitons and is it presenting a problem to actually post answers or
attempts to answers either here or via email ?
By the way don't worry about the computer bit or the bit about firefox, chrome, internet explorer. If you can use the zoom function

The first thing I would do with this question is to add the 2 and 3 together in the ratio 2:3
So 2 + 3 = 5
This "total" helps us see what scaling factor is needed to get the total up to 10. Can you see what the scaling factor is ?

No. That is not correct. Can you see what scaling factor is needed to get from a total of 5 to a total of 10 ?

No the point I was getting at was that in order to get from a total of 5 to a total of 10 we have to multiply by 2.
Do you see what I mean ? The ratio was 2 lots of red to 3 lots of blue suggesting a total of 5 units.
We need to double this amount to get to 10. We could have done 10 divided by 5 to get this result.

Can you now see from post number 887 how to get a value for the number of tins of red and blue paint to make 10 tins in total?

with how well you can see my posts. I know Bob and some others write in a large font using Latex. I can do that, but the trouble
is that it takes me longer to post things that way and I can get in a muddle with it - difficult if you are online at the same time.

Mandy: I was trying to get you to see that if we have 10 tins of paint in total then we need 2 x 2 = 4 tins of red paint
and 3 x 2 = 6 lots of blue paint. Have a look at that and see if you can see what I mean about the "ratio" being 2:3 ???

15 divided 5=3 so 2x3=6 3 =9 9+6=15 am I right?

What percentgae of tins are blue ?
Are these always the same if the ratio is 2:3 ?

back to the total being 10 and do something to those figures ???
Hint multiply by a scaling factor to get a total of 100 tins ?
