Equations

Here's some equations I found on Microsoft Word cool:

The Binomial Theorem:

Sum Expansion:

Fourier Series:

The Taylor Expansion:

And here's something I made up:

I'm guessing I just blew your minds smile, and you're like yikes eek

Re: Equations

hi n872yt3r

You found these in Word ?  That is surprising.  Where ?

But they're not displaying properly for me.  Did you copy and paste?  Strange symbols in the maths lines are causing syntax errors with the Latex.  How does it appear for others ?

Re: Equations

Hi;

Please check your latex.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
Of course that result can be rigorously obtained, but who cares?
Combinatorics is Algebra and Algebra is Combinatorics.

Re: Equations

So they are.  Amazing.  smile

But they don't convert nicely into Latex format so they're not displaying properly for me.

Re: Equations

What is my latex?

Oh you don'tknow ???  So how did you post them ?

If you put square brackets math <some stuff> square brackets /math

then what you put for <some stuff> goes to a LaTex interpreter and is rendered into math symbols.  But you have to follow the syntax as with any script.  Have a look at

Re: Equations

Okay... is latex some kind of code formatting that is used to power the site? what dunno
I don't know how it does that... it just keeps saying "math?"
I enter the code with square brackets with math and /math and I put the stuff inside... wait... did you say you need<example>?
Oh... I'll fix that.

This is weird. I tried to add the <> and the same thing happened: math?
And now I clicked on the link and boom! The <> were added to the equation. swear

Re: Equations

Oh sorry.  I've confused you.  Let's say I want the square root of 5.

You don't put √5 in Latex.  rather do \sqrt{5}

As in

Did you follow the link ?

Re: Equations

Well, first I didn't. Two seconds ago, I just finished it. Anyway, I get it now. Thanks! Oh... now I realize the items at the top are not always for copying and pasting into your topics and posts smile. What is "Quote?" I'll see if I can fix these errors...
