money

Teri finds a pile of money with at least \$600. If she puts \$200 of the pile in her left pocket, gives away 4/5 of the rest of the pile, and then puts the rest in her right pocket, she'll have more money than if she instead gave away \$600 of the original pile and kept the rest. What are the possible values of the number of dollars in the original pile of money? (Give your answer as an interval.)

I see you have graph paper.
You must be plotting something

Re: money

Hi;

You seem to want the answer rounded to dollars so

600 ≤ money < 950
or
[600,950)

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
