**Happy New Year.**

I do have something 'up my sleeve' on 2013. But it'll spoil the surprise to reveal it now. You'll have to wait a few months.

Is that a quotation from a novel?

No, I just made it up. If it also occurs in a novel, it is a coincidence.

Interesting fact...2013 is the first year since 1987 to have 4 different numbers! Let's hope this year brings positive changes too!

Hi Agnishom;

Is that a good sign because it has 4 different digits?

What do you mean by a ** good sign **?

A good omen. An indication at least in some sense that it will be good.

Hi;

No, the forum stays about the same. It took a dive down when I joined but since then it has remained constant.

Maybe 2013 is the smallest uninteresting number?

Prime numbers have got to be the neatest things; they are like atoms. Composites are two or more primes held together by multiplication.

In biology, we use math like we know what we are talking about. Sad isn't it.

Well, that is an interesting property of the number 2013!

Anyone know how John Chew came up with this statement:

"2013 is the smallest number that is at least six added or subtracted squares of prime numbers."

in his webpage article, "How is 2013 interesting? Let us count the ways"?

One way would be a large PSLQ.
