Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Hi BarandaMan; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #52 2012-12-21 06:55:27
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!The whole problem, I cannot differentiate it. #53 2012-12-21 06:58:28
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Hi;
Let's do it again. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #54 2012-12-21 08:08:29
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!
Where do we start? #55 2012-12-21 08:13:32
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!
I have already done that. Reminds me of the movie, In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #56 2012-12-21 08:16:04
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!
Hehehe! Thank you for your patience #57 2012-12-21 08:17:42
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Which term is remaining? I will post that for tomorrow. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #58 2012-12-21 08:23:16
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!We found two of them =0. The third one we spent some time on, we got a result, then we have to put it over 'P' but I don't know why. And the last one we haven't yet begun. #59 2012-12-21 13:39:36
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Hi; Since we are differentiating with respect to Pi, everything else is a constant. Can you differentiate what is boxed off with respect to Pi? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #60 2012-12-21 23:24:30
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Ok, yes, that is -nPi^(-n-1). #61 2012-12-21 23:33:32
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!That is correct, now you only have to clean up the other term. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #62 2012-12-22 00:11:38
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!So how does that term look (the one we just differentiated?) #63 2012-12-22 00:22:26
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!I think you lost a minus sign. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #65 2012-12-22 09:05:00

Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!
Bobby, with all due respect, you are making this very difficult for me. #69 2012-12-22 16:01:06
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Hi;
I am frustrated too but seem to have that under control. This is about the third time I have done this particular part of the problem. There is no breaking it down. You have some constants and a single variable to differentiate. For that you use the power rule. I have showed you this several times. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #70 2012-12-22 21:49:38
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!But the third term is still undone and I keep thinking that I am doing it correctly and then writing it up neat just for you to post something completely different so I get the feeling you are purposely doing this. #71 2012-12-22 21:56:57

Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!
So these two things, are they not different? Which is correct? I showed what I got by differentiating the bottom and wrote it out, it does not equal the thing you posted #73 2012-12-22 22:09:06
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!They are different for a reason. One is differentiated the other is not. One is the question and the other one is the answer. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #74 2012-12-22 22:14:15

You see how unhelpful you are being? #75 2012-12-22 22:14:48
Re: Really Difficult Differentiation! Help please!Just lock the thread you have killed this forum for me. Thanks for the help. |
