Baseball Lineups

I have to fill out a 9 player baseball lineup, using only three players.

I have three Player A, three Player B and three Player C.

ie - one lineup might look like AAABBBCCC or AABCABCCB

My question is, what is the math formula for determining how many possible lineups there are.
And secondly, what is an easy way to list all these lineups?

Thanks  -D

Re: Baseball Lineups

Hi;

Welcome to the forum.

There are

different lineups. To list them you will need a program.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Hi;

Go here

and enter aaabbbccc.

Easier than coding a multinomial!
