probability

I have just a little question about this : If I toss a coin 5 times, what is the probability of getting 4 tails and 1 head ? I think the answer is 5/32 ? Is this any good ? THanks

Re: probability

5/32 is correct.

Re: probability

Omg im happy to know that because in my book it says its 4/32 ?!? And here is another one, what is the prob that it will land 3 times on head and 2 times on tails ? I got 9/32 but in my book it says 8/32 ?!? There is always 1 of difference, we could say it's an error ? Thanks !

Re: probability

Hi Al-Allo;

Both of those are binomial distribution problems. What is the name of the book?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
