Science Website NamesI want to start working on a Science website, the first step is to find a name. Most names are taken (such as ScienceIsFun), but I have these options so far (at differing prices): "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #2 2012-12-04 17:20:22
Re: Science Website NamesHi MathsIsFun, Character is who you are when no one is looking. #3 2012-12-04 18:45:38
Re: Science Website NamesHi MIF; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #4 2012-12-04 19:08:49
Re: Science Website Nameshi MathsIsFun You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #5 2012-12-04 21:19:07
Re: Science Website NamesNah, most expensive ... "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #6 2012-12-04 21:23:42

Re: Science Website NamesMy rating: The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #9 2012-12-04 23:02:30
Re: Science Website NamesWhat is the pricing formula? Then we can make a brilliant suggestion that's low cost. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #10 2012-12-04 23:24:09
Re: Science Website NamesIf MIF would supply some value for how much he likes each one and then the price the best choice can be determined by game theory. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #11 2012-12-05 07:24:46
Re: Science Website NamesI wish there were a pricing formula! People buy up names and then just sit on them waiting for offers. Sometimes there is a fixed price, sometimes an auction, other times it is negotiation. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #12 2012-12-05 12:18:48

Re: Science Website NamesSci&sIsFun (named after Le-a) Writing "pretty" math (two dimensional) is easier to read and grasp than LaTex (one dimensional). LaTex is like painting on many strips of paper and then stacking them to see what picture they make. #14 2012-12-05 17:00:26
Re: Science Website NamesThese answers are "to the best of my knowledge" and I am no expert: "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #15 2012-12-05 17:25:07

Re: Science Website NamesYes, I've been there. It belongs to a lady teacher who puts her picture on the front page. At least, she implies it is her. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #25 2012-12-06 22:11:23
