Re: I cant figure this out PLEASE HELPHmmm... I thought there was another reason. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment #7 20121128 08:16:14
Re: I cant figure this out PLEASE HELPDoesn't matter. I hope we solved the OP's problem. Re: I cant figure this out PLEASE HELPStefy just looked for a formula of the form y = mx + c so that when x = 2, then y = 3, and similarly when x = 8, y = 5. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #11 20121201 01:48:15

Re: I cant figure this out PLEASE HELPHi daydoe12; You have 2 > 3 and 8 > 5 so call x=2 and y =3 in the first equation and x = 8 and y = 5 in the second. When you solve that you get m = 1/5 and b = 17 / 5. Now plug in to the first equation. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #15 20121204 20:52:11

I hope you are kidding.
