New Puzzles 5Yet more ... "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #2 2012-10-07 22:19:08
Re: New Puzzles 5I disagree with the number alphabet puzzle's solution. You can write myriad with the letters. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #3 2012-10-08 00:00:40
Re: New Puzzles 5Hi MIF; For "Mince Pie Madness" that is the correct solution. You solve it using this equation. p = 109 In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #4 2012-10-08 08:08:32

Nice! Also "many", "lots" and "heaps". "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #5 2012-10-08 08:19:21

Well, unlike "heaps" and "many" and such, "myriad" is an actual number. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón |
