Is Matrix Subtraction an operation? Is it A-B or is it A+(-B) ? "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #2 2010-05-08 18:11:38
Re: Is Matrix Subtraction an operation?Hi Mathsisfun; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #3 2010-05-08 19:10:23
Re: Is Matrix Subtraction an operation?Hi MathIsFun! If two or more thoughts intersect with each other, then there has to be a point. #4 2010-05-09 09:43:05

Re: Is Matrix Subtraction an operation?
Adding a negative and subtraction are different operation that achieve the same thing, so I guess either is okay. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #8 2012-09-21 11:18:15
Re: Is Matrix Subtraction an operation?Hi MathIsFun! Writing "pretty" math (two dimensional) is easier to read and grasp than LaTex (one dimensional). LaTex is like painting on many strips of paper and then stacking them to see what picture they make. |
