Hi Julieeeee;

Is the purple shaded area what you want?

Hi Julieeeee;

Welcome to the forum.

This is what I did:

What did you do?

Hi Julieeeee;

That is correct and nice and simple.

What about tangent touching graph of

at a pointI get

And also...

But wolfram alpha says

Why is that so?

Hi Julieeeee;

I am getting that for a tangent also. How did you get yours?

For that integral, Maple gets the first answer too. Might be that an absolute value is wrapped around each term and they have both left it out...

When I do it by hand I do not get Alpha's answer either.

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

by implicit differentiation I get

Hence

Thank you bobbym

Do you get my answer?

Hi;

Have you seen an implicit plot of that equation?

Yes, I get your answer when I do the integration.

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

did you also do it like me?

The tangent problem? No I used geogebra to get the tangents for me. But when I look at the graph I am not so sure of the answer we are all getting.

Question: Are you satisfied with your tangent line?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
