Zebra Puzzles and ComputersI am looking for a way by which we can solve a Zebra Puzzle using programming where Inputs are given in the form of properties and conditions. 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' 'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it' 'Who are you to judge everything?' Alokananda #2 20120903 01:32:11
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersHi Agnishom; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #3 20120903 22:27:29
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersWhat about these ones? 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersHi bobbym The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment #5 20120904 00:33:45
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersHi Agnishom;
I never worked on one that big with that method.
Input form? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6 20120905 21:31:41
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersHmm I decided to do it with loops 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersBut I am talking about Zebra Puzzles which have so many possible permutations. 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' 'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it' 'Who are you to judge everything?' Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersHi Agnishom;
I do not know how to apply the idea to a larger problem or even a smaller one. I never really understood what the guy was doing. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #10 20120906 23:43:42
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersWhich guy? 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersI am not sure you can say that it is done easily. It just is a method that can be done by a computer. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #12 20120907 01:07:04
Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersSorry, I mean it is done very fast 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersI think the Zebra puzzle can be formulated as a constraint satisfaction problem and solved that way. Last edited by muxdemux (20121224 06:42:37) #15 20121224 06:18:53

Re: Zebra Puzzles and ComputersI will talk about that once I return home. I am back to that remote village where its tough to get connected. 'And fun?
