Hi,

I did not get a closed form for that yet, just some estimates.

I think you have solved it, just divide your answer by 123456787654321.

"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense" - Buddha?

I don't think it is that simple. I have to find a reason to divide by 123456787654321.

The question asks for the average, it was not clear earlier.

Hi gAr

I see what the problem was. If I am correct, we understood that we were asked for the expected sum, not the excpected difference.

Hi,

Actually, we did expected sum of the absolute differences.

Yes. It wasn't clear that the boss wanted the expected difference.

Hi;

It is clear that A and C should be fired. That is the question. The constant 123456787654321 is a red herring. It does not even matter.

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

Hi anonimnystefy;

A is a real person but you are a heck of alot smarter than he is. Your feelings are not accurate. A,B,C,D and E are real people. At least they are my perceptions of real people.

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

B is a cool guy. I am glad to know him. He was a great Holdem player. A powerful combination of mind and body he dominated Vegas cardrooms for more than 16 years. He was the finest programmer that ever lived. He was a great bowler, basketball player and a superb mathematician in the truest sense of the word. Charming, handsome, he had it all, a true Renaissance man.
